It should also be noted that Hawk is also in some historic company, as noted by Bengals.com writer Geoff Hobson, who pointed out Hawks’ first 16 career NFL games compared to that of two of the all-time Bengals greats at the receiver position:
FIRST 16 GAMES OF CAREER: Catches-yards-yards-per catch TDs
Andrew Hawkins 35-461-13.2-2
Chad Johnson 33-407 -12.3-2
T.J. Houshmandzadeh 33-369-11.2-0
He also had this interesting nugget on Hawk:
More Elias: Hawkins fourth in #Bengals history whose first 2 NFL TD catches50-plus yards. McVea 1968, Curtis 1973, Billy Brooks 1977.

NFL hall-of-famer Deion Sanders said this past Sunday after Hawkins latest performance that he was becoming one of the best slot-receiver in the NFL. The humble Hawkins could only respond by saying, “Just cool Deion Sanders knows who I am.”
So again, thank you Cleveland for your continued personnel department blunders. You got as good a look as anyone at Hawk as anyone, and even agreed to sign him. Why you didn’t we may never know, but your loss is our gain. Thanks again!
