Morning Headlines: Homer Bailey Pitches Reds 15th No-Hitter, & Pats Rule Out Hernandez

It was another memorable night in a season full of memories for the Cincinnati Reds, as pitcher Homer Bailey pitched the 15th no-hitter in Reds history and the first since Tom Browning’s perfect game in 1988, and his team needed every bit of it as they edged the Pittsburgh Pirates, 1-0.

Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (groin) was added to the teams’ injury report Friday as he was limited in practice, and is now being listed as questionable for Sunday’s AFC west showdown with the Chargers.

The Patriots have ruled out starting WR Julian Edelman and TE Aaron Hernandez. Rob Gronkowski is also listed as questionable to play against the Bills.

Giants WR Hakeem Nicks is doubtful and likely to miss a second straight game against the Eagles.

Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding left Friday’s practice with groin soreness, and is out for Week 4. The team signed Nick Novak to take his place Sunday.

Dolphins RB Reggie Bush (knee) is officially questionable, but signs point towards him playing.

Panthers LB Jon Beason is questionable for the Panthers and the team has already said that they won’t be moving rookie Luke Kuechly to the middle in the event Beason can’t play on Sunday.

Rams rookie DT Michael Brockers could make his regular season debut after missing the first three games with an ankle injury.

Eddie Payton, the former NFL player who is best known as the brother of the great Walter Payton, is releasing a book next week about his brother in an attempt to emphasize the positive about his brother’s life.
