The biggest news of the day came from Head Coach Marvin Lewis, who revealed that first-round cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick may be ready to suit up Sunday vs. the Browns. After Kirk hurt suffered a knee injury before training camp, he then aggravated the injury during camp, and has been sidelined for much of the two months since, but has been practicing for the past two weeks now, and lately has been able to fully practice with no reported limitations. With back CB Jason Allen set to miss another game, the Bengals would have only four corners going into Sunday if Kirk doesn’t play. The question of whether he plays or not will likely come down to if Lewis thinks Kirkpatrick is ready to contribute more than that of either Jeromy Miles or Chris Crocker, as both safeties have seen limited snaps at CB. Don’t expect Kirk to be active this week.

The receiving corps will be the weakest it’s been all season, as the team will be without Mohamed Massaquoi, Jordan Norwood, and likely won’t have Travis Benjamin either. All three receivers have started games, and Massaquoi and Benjamin have been arguably the teams’ top-2 receivers through the first five weeks. Rookie Josh Gordan has emerged of late, so expect to see plenty of targets go his way.
