Now that the Ravens will be without Ray Lewis and LarDarius Webb, the team’s updated depth chart showed Dannell Ellerbe sliding into the starting WLB spot with Jameel McClain taking over the vacant MLB spot held by Lewis for nearly two decades. CB Jimmy Smith, the first-rounder out of Colorado in 2011, is now a starter.
In some much-needed positive news, the Ravens will activate OLB Terrell Suggs (Achilles’) from the PUP list this week, but still isn’t Rookie RB Bobby Rainey has been promoted to the active roster and CB Lardarius Webb was placed on IR.
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin suggested that guard David DeCastro (knee surgery) is making significant progress in his rehabilitation, and will be eilgible to come off the I.R. list in Week 9, and make his NFL debut soon thereafter.
