The only news on the Bengals injury front is RB Brian Leonard‘s X-rays were negative Monday on his rib problem and he’s day-to-day for Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers. The fact that the Bengals worked out free agent John Clay shows the team has doubts that Leonard will be prepared to suit up in the critical AFC North showdown.
As for the Steelers, starting RT Marcus Gilbert (ankle) is expected to miss several weeks, meaning rookie 2nd-round draft pick and former Ohio State Buckeye Mike Adams will make the first start of his career in Gilbert’s absence.
RB Rashard Mendenhall (achilles) is listed as day to day and it’s uncertain if he will play Sunday night.
Safety Troy Polamalu will miss Sunday’s game as he continues to battle a right calf injury
RB Isaac Redman, the team’s leading rusher with 127 yards (you thought the Bengals run-game was struggling?), is also considered day-to-day because of a knee problem.
