Scouting the AFC North: Steelers Health, & Ravens Bye Week Blues

The Steelers have manged to go 3-3 at the midway point of the season with a plethora of injuries, but the team is expected to get back RBs  Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles’) and Isaac Redman (ankle) vs. the Redskins this Sunday. The team should also know today if center Maurkice Pouncey(knee) will be ready to suit up Sunday after missing last week. The team has however ruled out safety Troy Polamalu (calf) and OT Marcus Gilbert (ankle).

After the Ravens allowed 4 sacks during Sunday’s 44-13 loss to the Texans, head coach John Harbaugh thinks it’s time for some offensive line changes heading into the Ravens’ bye week. They’ve allowed 13 sacks in their last four games, and have arguably one of the worst pass-protecting o-lines in the NFL.

Browns rookie RB Trent Richardson is dealing with a serious rib-cartilage injury that has greatly hindered his play the last few weeks. At 1-6 and no real hope of making the playoffs, the Browns are considering shutting him down for the next few weeks to make sure he fully recovers and doesn’t risk long-term damage.
