Everyone’s favorite football video game franchise has released the latest roster update for Madden 13, and the Bengals for the most part saw their ratings decrease as the team is in the midst of a three-game losing streak. However, one player who rose in the ratings was starting left guard Clint Boling.
Coming into the 2012 season, Boling was expected to be the backup to newly signed Travelle Wharton, but when Wharton was lost for the year with a torn ACL, the 2011 4th-round draft pick out of Georgia was thrust into the starting lineup, and has been one of the biggest breakout Bengals at the midway point of the 2012 season.
He currently ranks as the 10th-best offensive guard(+9.1) by Pro Football Focus, and has made significant improvements from his rookie year in which he was a major liability. Now he appears to be the long-term answer for the Bengals at left-guard, and with right-guard Kevin Zeitler(+11.1 by PFF), the Bengals may be sporting one of the best guard-combos in the NFL in the next year of two.
