The Packers were hit with some tough news yesterday as it was announced that receiver Greg Jennings will undergo sports hernia surgery next Tuesday. Team doctors expect Jennings to be sidelined about three weeks. It’s especially tough news for the Pro Bowl receiver, who is in the midst of a disastrous contract season. He was set to sign only his second non-rookie contract, which would have likely been the biggest of his career, but with each passing week he sits on the sideline, so do the amount of dollars he’ll sign for this offseason, whether its with the Packers or another NFL team.
The Packers other Pro Bowl receiver, Jordy Nelson, will be held out of practice on Friday and be a gametime-decision Sunday vs. the Jaguars.
Its looking as though Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer will draw a second-consecutive start this Sunday versus the Redskins in Week 8.
Saints Interim Head Coach Joe Vitt disregarded speculation that fourth-string RB Chris Ivory could be shopped at the trade deadline.
