UPDATE 7:00 PM

Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher put any Steven Jackson trade rumors to bed today, as he stated any rumors are just that, and that he’s not going anywhere.

NFL teams in need of receiver help are calling Panthers to see if Steve Smith’s available, but they are getting met with a simple no.

With offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie being demoted out of the starting lineup in Baltimore, the Arizona Cardinals have reportedly shown interest in McKinnie.

The Patriots have released special teams linebacker Bobby Carpenter.

UPDATE 5:00 PM

The Lions have traded for Jaguars WR Mike Thomas.

The Buccaneers have placed All-Pro guard Carl Nicks on the season-ending injured reserve list.

ESPN’s John Clayton speculated on NFL Live today that either Buccaneers RB LeGarrette Blount or Saints RB Chris Ivory could be had for a 7th-round draft pick.

With only two days until the end of the NFL trading deadline, which has been extended by two days to Thursday at 4:00 p.m. ET, talks are heating up and the rumor mill is blowing hard, but as we’ve seen before, until a deal is done, nothing can be believed. Here’s the latest rumors going around:

The St. Louis Rams have reportedly fielded trade offers from multiple teams regarding the availability of runningback Steven Jackson, however, ESPN’s John Clayton reports there’s been no action in Jackson trade talks.

The Eagles won’t likely make a quarterback change, despite the teams’ 3-4 record and the less-than-stellar play of Michael Vick, and there’s virtually no chance now that the incumbent QB will be traded prior to Thursday.

The Lions are describing starting safety Louis Delmas’s injury status as day-to-day after he suffered a knee injury during Sunday’s win over the Seahawks, and now the team is reportedly shopping for veteran safety help due to concerns about Delmas’ knee.

Titans Head Coach Mike Munchak said the team is hoping to get disgruntled tight end Jared Cook more opportunities in the offense after he became the first player during the season to publicly demand a trade.

While not excatly rumors, our fansided brother for the Seattle Seahawks, 12th Man Rising, did an interesting take on three trades the Seahawks should do but won’t.including one that would send former Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Trufant to the Bengals AFC North rivals in the Baltimore Ravens.
