NFL Headlines: Trade Deadline Passes, & Isaiah Pead Looking to Breakout

Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher says that he will look for ways to get the ball in second-round runningback Isaiah Pead’s hands after the rookie showed playmaking ability while rushing for 32 yards on just three carries in the teams’ 45-7 loss to the Patriots. For the season, the former Bearcat star has received only four carries while being a healthy gameday scratch as he adjusts to the NFL game.

Yesterday saw the NFL trading deadline come and go with not much action to speak of, but one deal that did beat the deadline buzzer was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trading cornerback Aqib Talib to New England Patriots. This will help improve one of the league’s worst pass-defenses that the Patriots have had for the past two seasons. In four games this season, Talib has 21 tackles, 7 PDs and 1 INT and ranks as Pro Football Focus’ 19-best CB out of 104 eligible players. The reported compensation was a 2013 4th-round draft pick being to sent to the Bucs for Talib and a 7th-round pick

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill will be on a short leash if he is healthy enough to start vs. the Colts on Sunday while recovering from a knee injury, and if the injury hinders his play, the team will go to backup Matt Moore fairly quickly.
