Starting safety Reggie Nelson did not practice for a third straight day due to a hamstring injury that he suffered during the fourth quarter of last week’s loss to Denver and is listed as doubtful, though given Marvin Lewis‘ history of not playing players who don’t practice, he’s as good as out. Expect to see Nate Clements and Chris Crocker take over the starting safety spots.
Dre Kirkpatrick did not practice on Friday, and given he’s already missed so much time with injuries, don’t expect to see him play Sunday. If he does, it will be in nothing more than limited special teams snaps.
Starting center Jeff Faine was limited in practice with an injured hamstring. Rookie Trevor Robinson was a full participant during today’s session, and he will get a heavy amount of snaps on Sunday vs. the Giants vaunted defensive line.
Out
CB Michael Coe (Hamstring – DNP)
S Kenny Phillips (Knee – DNP)
LB Jacquian Williams (Knee – DNP)
Questionable
RB Ahmad Bradshaw (Foot – DNP)
LB Keith Rivers (Calf – LP)
G Chris Snee (Ankle – LP)
Probable
C David Baas (Ankle/Elbow – FP)
LB Chase Blackburn (Hamstring – FP)
RB Andre Brown (Shoulder – FP)
DT Chris Canty (Groin – FP)
WR Hakeem Nicks (Knee – LP)
TE Bear Pascoe (Ankle – FP)
The two biggest players to watch are starting RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) and starting center Chris Snee (ankle) who are listed as questionable to play. If Snee is out, that will give the Bengals a distinct advantage with DT Geno Atkins playing at an All-Pro level.
CB Michael Coe (hamstring), safety Kenny Phillips (knee) and linebacker Jacquian Williams (knee) have already been ruled out.
