It was not a very offensive Thursday night. The Dolphins visited Buffalo to open up week 11 of the NFL season, and were handed an AFC East defeat, 19-14.
Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins offense were ultimately punished all night long by a strong showing by the Buffalo defense playing for the home crowd. They were held to just 184 yards, and a single touchdown pass in the 4th quarter. The Bills also sacked Tannehill three times and forced three crucial turnovers to match.
The Bills’ lone touchdown came from a 79-yard punt return by Leodis McKelvin just 90 seconds into the game. And they never lost the lead. Although they found themselves inside the Dolphins 20 yard-line four different times, they failed to score against a Fins defense that kept the game close, forcing four field goals by Rian Lindell. His longest of the night was 42 yards.
Seemingly ever since his injury against the Jets, Tannehill has struggled the second half of his rookie year, as the Dolphins have now gone from the playoff mix to losing three straight.
