Pittsburgh also sits at 6-3, and has looked fantastic the last month after stumbling a bit out of the gate. But I’m sure you all saw what happened Monday night. The news on Ben Roethlisberger does not sound good for the Steelers, including the scary revelation that there was concern Roethlisberger’s dislocated rib could cut into his aorta. If Big Ben misses multiple weeks as now seems likely, the Steelers are in serious trouble. The Bengals also get an opportunity in Week 16 to make up a game on Pittsburgh, and it may well be that contest is an elimination game.

Is it likely Cincinnati makes the playoffs? No, it is not. They have the talent, and they have the schedule, but trailing by two games with seven to play is tough to overcome. But the point is, with apologies to Lloyd Christmas, I’m telling you there is a chance. And given how the Bengals played for a good chunk of this season, a chance is all we can ask for.
