NFL News: Beanie Wells Set to Return, & Alex Smith may not Play vs. Bears

The struggling Arizona Cardinals’ running game could be getting a significant boost soon, as former Ohio State Buckeye Beanie Wells remains on track to start when eligible to be activated from injured reserve list  in Week 12. Wells has been practicing with the team since last week and is ‘on track’ to return next Sunday when they play the St. Lois Rams. Wells said the knee issues that cost him the entire offseason have subsided and the knee “feels great.”

49ers QB Alex Smith was limited in practice Friday as he continues to recover from last week’s concussion suffered vs. the St. Louis Rams, and now his status appears up in the air for Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears, despite the popular belief that Smith would be ready for the Bears.

Meanwhile, Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hand) is looking more likely to be active against the 49ers on Monday night.

After another frustrating loss Thursday night, this time at the hands of the Buffalo Bills, Dolphins MLB Karlos Dansby revealed Friday that he is playing through a torn biceps muscle. Dansby also says he has a dislocated finger on his right hand that is “popping out every other play.”
