So why are the Chiefs sitting on just one win coming into this game? Turnovers. The Kansas City Chiefs lead the NFL in just two categories at this point in the season- fumbles and interceptions. As much as they move the ball on offense, it doesn’t do the team much good if they continue to turn the ball over at the staggering pace they are doing so. After Monday night’s match against the Steelers, they‘ve given the ball up 30 times, which is averaging three every game.
So for the Bengals to avoid a disappointment in Arrowhead stadium, they need to make sure they do exactly what has caused the Chiefs downfall this season and force turnovers. In the act of attempting that, they’ll also want to make sure they take care of the pigskin themselves.
Going a little deeper, Cincinnati will want to limit the impact of Charles in the running game with their powerful front seven, and will try to get their own running game going against a poor rush defense. The Bengals simply need to focus on limiting what the Chiefs have going for them, and avoid unwarranted mistakes. If they’re able to do that, I’ll easily take the Bengals away from home in this one.
Prediction: Bengals 24, Chiefs 10
