More Peerman Anyone?
For the second-consecutive week, Cedric Peerman received a small number of snaps, this time getting in for 8 plays (11%). Ironically, Peerman had 8 carries for 75 yards, though 32 of those came on a fake-punt on special teams, meaning he effectively ran 7 times for 42 yards on offense (6 ypc). While it’s a small sample size, Peerman clearly needs to get more touches the rest of the season.
No Need to Press-ley
Fullbacks have become a thing of the past in NFL offenses, and the Bengals have certainly followed this trend. Starting FB Chris Pressley received a mere 10 snaps (14%) vs. the Chiefs after receiving 19 combined snaps vs. the Giants and Broncos. Speaking of FBs, the Bengals will face the best FB in the league this week in the Raider’s Marcel Reece, who rates as Pro Football Focus’ #1 FB while also leading all FBs in offensive snaps (444). Just an interesting tidbit.
Keep on Rolland Baby
After receiving 26 snaps (44%) vs. the Giants the previous week, backup TE Orson Charles received just 20 while backup OT Dennis Roland received 10 snaps (14%), his most since Week 7 vs. the Steelers in which he received 16 snaps (32%).
