The Houston Texans went into Detroit and escaped with a hard fought 34-31 win over the Lions in a game marred by controversy. Between the groin kick by Ndamukong Suh on Matt Schaub, or the 81-yard TD run by Justin Forsett that should have been nothing more than a 7-yard gain, the game was deadlocked at 31 when the 4th quarter ended, and the two teams went back and forth in overtime. Each team missed a field goal before Shayne Graham booted int the game-winning field goal from 32 yards out to drop the Lions to 4-7 and seemingly out of the playoff hunt, while the Texans maintained their AFC-best record at 10-1.
The Redskins scored an impressive road win as they went into Dallas and handed the Cowboys a rare Thanksgiving day loss as Robert Griffin III lit up the Cowboys secondary, throwing for 311 yards on 20/28 passing and 4 touchdowns, leading the Redskins (5-6) into a tie with the Cowboys (5-6) for second place in the NFC East. With the division leading Giants playing the Packers on Sunday night, there could be just one game separating the three teams for the division lead at the end of Week 12.
The New England Patriots whipped the New York Jets 49-12 in a game that saw the Pats jump out to a 35-0 lead in the second-quarter and never look back.
Fair to say the Ryan brothers have had better Thanksgivings.
