The Bengals are the healthiest they’ve been all season long after players seemed to be dropping like flies through the preseason and first-half of the regular season. From all indications, the team avoided any significant injuries during Sunday’s win over the Raiders, and the team is expected to get starting slot receiver Andrew Hawkins back this week.
An unheard of nine Chargers players were reported to have suffered injuries in the teams’ 16-13 overtime loss to the Ravens on Sunday. The most significant players injured was starting free safety Eric Weddle, who went down with a concussion. He is regarded as one of the games’ top safeties, and if he is unable to play Sunday vs. the Bengals, it will be a huge loss for San Diego.
Also inured was MLB Donald Butler (groin), DE Corey Liuget (tibia), and strong safety Atari Bigby (groin), all of which are starters, so the injury report will be heavy for the Chargers this week. Bigby will reportedly miss 3-5 weeks with his groin injury.
