The Eagles’ nightmare season is only getting worse after the team released DE Jason Babin yesterday, and now it looks as though All-Pro RB LeSean McCoy (concussion) isn’t close to a return as he is still in Phase 1 of his recovery. With the emergence of 7th-rounder Bryce Brown, don’t expect to see too much of McCoy the rest of the season.

The 49ers have arguably the NFL’s best linebacking corps, and they insured that will be the case for awhile as the team signed MLB Navorro Bowman to a five-year, $45.25 million extension, including $25.5 million in guarantees. It wasn’t all good news yesterday for California’s best team, as the team also announced backup RB Kendall Hunter is out for the season with an Achilles tear.

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to have WR Miles Austin (hip) back this week to play versus the Eagles, while RB DeMarco Murray (foot) will attempt to practice today, but it’s uncertain if he’ll return this week.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported yesterday that they would be shocked if Ben Roethlisberger is able to overcome his rib and should injury and suit up Sunday against the Ravens. According to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, the Steelers will try to ease Big Ben back into practice today as the Steelers are fighting for their playoff lives.
