Scouting the AFC North: Ravens May lose Terrell Suggs and Gain Ray Lewis

The Ravens have been decimated at linebacker, and now OLB Terrell Suggs will be a gamtetime decision vs. the red-hot Washington Redskins on Sunday after he suffered a torn biceps muscle in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers. He does believe he’ll be able to play through it, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The team does however expect MLB Ray Lewis to return to practice Wednesday. A torn triceps muscle seven weeks ago looked to have not only ended his season, but potentially the 17-year career of the first-ballot hall-of-famer. OLB Dannell Ellerbe is also dealing with a foot injury that caused him to miss last week’s game vs. the Steelers.

Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin has said that Ben Roethlisberger’s performance in Wednesday’s practice will be crucial to his Week 14 status as he recovers from a rib injury and sprained throwing shoulder. Even without Big Ben, they should be able to beat the 4-8 Chargers at home with either Charlie Batch or Byron Leftwhich.

Tomlin also confirmed that Jonathan Dwyer will stick as his starting running back for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
