The Pittsburgh Steelers have just announced that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will start this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. He’ll be returning to action after missing the last three games with a shoulder injury and a rib injury that was reported to be life-threatening. Roethlisberger practiced for the second straight day today, and he’ll make his return with his team sitting at 7-5 and holding a slim lead for the final AFC Wild Card playoff spot.
The Ravens may be getting a boost on defense as CB Jimmy Smith practiced today for the first time since his November 15th sports hernia surgery, and may be able to play Sunday vs. the Washington Redskins.
Browns RB Trent Richardson says he can’t wait to ditch the flak jacket that’s protecting his previously injured ribs. He believes it is hindering him, and he is averaging just 3.27 yards per carryover the last three weeks
