Scouting the AFC North: Mike Wallace's Struggles & Browns Resurgence

Steelers WR Mike Wallace is blaming his alarming number of drops this season to a lack of focus caused by his diminished role in Todd Haley’s new offensive system. Over the past four games, he’s totaled 13 catches for 93 yards.

The Browns are on the verge of a three-game winning streak if they can score a victory on Sunday over the Kansas City Chiefs. One player who has been a pleasant surprise in the midst of the Browns’  resurgence is rookie WR Josh Gordon, who had the best game of his brief career last Sunday, catching six passes for 116 yards and one touchdown as the Browns ended a 12-game road losing streak with a 20-17 victory over the Raiders. Gordon also has five TDs this season, and with the rookie trio of Gordan, Trent Richardson, and Brandon Weeden, the Browns may soon be reaching respectability again.

If the Baltimore Ravens want to earn a top-2 seed and a first-round bye in the AFC playoff picture, they need to defeat the Washington Redskins this week to keep pace with the Denver Broncos, who now hold the second seed with last night’s win over the Oakland Raiders. The Ravens may face the Skins without the services of OLB Terrell Suggs, who is suffering from a torn biceps muscle and is listed as questionable for Sunday. Meanwhile, TE Ed Dickson and LB Dannell Ellerbe have been ruled out, while CB Jimmy Smith is doubtful.
