The Cincinnati Bengals (7-5)  host the Dallas Cowboys (6-6) at Paul Brown Stadium for the first time since November 7th, 2004. The Bengals are tied with the Steelers at 7-5 for the final wild card spot. Both clubs have a two-game lead over the 5-7 Jets, Bills and Dolphins, making today’s game ever-so crucial for their playoff hopes. Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20124:11 pm

Like Jason said, Marvin’s wasted timeout is going to come back to haunt him.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20124:06 pm

Nobody does the sit in a hole in zone coverage like Witten.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20124:05 pm

That’s the second dropped interception by Newman today, but both he and Pacman have played very well against their former team.

Jason Jason December 9, 20124:03 pm

Bengals run 5 straight pass plays with Dalton getting sacked on 3rd down. DAL takes over at DAL 27 with 3:44 left

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20124:03 pm

But takes a sack by Spencer when he makes Zeitler look like a rookie. The window is wide open for the Cowboys now.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20124:01 pm

Great pocket presence by Dalton when every yard matters.

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:54 pm

Romo to Bryant for a 27 yard TD after converting a 1st and 20 and 3rd and 10 on this drive

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:53 pm

Cowboys killing Bengals on crossing routes this drive, down to CIN 26

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:53 pm

I expected the Cowboys to run those crossing routes all day, but they are having success now.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:52 pm

Pressure from Geno caused what should have been a Nate Clements INT.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:50 pm

That holding penalty is why Doug Free has been riding the pine. He can plow as a run blocker, but his feet are just too slow to keep up with Dunlap.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:47 pm

It’s still a two-score game, but it’s dangerous to keep Romo within striking distance.

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:44 pm

I strongly dislike these referees

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:44 pm

BJGE rumbles for 38 yards but block in the back penalty pushes it back 10 yards.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:41 pm

It’s time for Green-Ellis to put the game away.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:37 pm

Love seeing Lamur in for Maualuga on third down to cover Witten.

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:36 pm

Geno Atkins reaches double digits in sacks (10.5).

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:36 pm

Both of the head coaches in this game need a game-management assistant.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:35 pm

Classic Marvin Lewis game management.

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:35 pm

What is Marv thinking?

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:35 pm

Bengals use last timeout with 14:29 left in fourth. That might come back to bite them

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:28 pm

Beautiful Huber 47-yd punt is downed at 2-yard line

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:27 pm

And another drop keeps the Cowboys in the game.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:27 pm

The Bengals are driving towards the final nail in the coffin. Momentum is firmly on their side.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:24 pm

That swim move that Herron is using on the punt block is very very nice.

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:23 pm

Nelson gets revenge for bad call with 3rd down sack of Romo. Bengals get it back at CIN 34.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:22 pm

That zone blitz had Romo all turned around. The Bengals defense has the Cowboys on their heels.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:19 pm

Reggie Nelson got jobbed on that call. Secondary is playing good coverage to match the pressure up front.

Jason Jason December 9, 20123:15 pm

Green with another 3rd down drop. Brown on for 52-yd FG. Bengals up lead to 19-10 with 6:45 left in 3rd qtr, Brown’s 29th career field goal from beyond 50.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:15 pm

Josh Brown nails a huge field goal, and I am breathing much easier than I was during the first field goal attempt.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:13 pm

A.J. tried to catch the ball with his body wide open and drops what would have been a 3rd down conversion.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20123:02 pm

Next stop on the Romo pain train? Genoville.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:57 pm

Green with a rare drop on 3rd down. Brown kicks his 3rd FG, a 25-yarder, to give Bengals 16-10 lead

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:56 pm

In this red zone trip, Gresham, Green and Jones all had what should have been TD passes dropped or wiped out by illegal touching.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:54 pm

Despite the Marvin Jones TD getting wiped out, he is really having a coming out party.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:53 pm

All the lip readers in the audience loved that exchange. And who is Rob Ryan to make fun of the size of Smith’s posterior.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:52 pm

And gets a 15-yard flag. 1st-and-goal

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:51 pm

Andre Smith is jawing with Rob Ryan. I love it.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:48 pm

Great interview. Love the kid!

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:46 pm

Here it is:

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:46 pm

ORSON BABY! The only professional player I’ve ever interviewed. Thanks big-O.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:46 pm

Orson Charles in the flat to convert the first down. And there’s the weekly whetting of my Orson Charles appetite. Feed him more.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:42 pm

Trevor Robinson is back in at center to start the second half.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:29 pm

At the half — Bengals 13, Cowboys 10

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:26 pm

Bengals Michael Johnson injured his right foot and his return is questionable.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:25 pm

Terrible decision by Romo in throwing the interception to Reggie Nelson. Caused by pressure by MJ and Dunlap

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:22 pm

A pointless facemask penalty by Dunlap ruined an excellent, relentless sack by MJ93

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:20 pm

Zimmer is starting to dial up some pressure now. Romo is feeling it.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:20 pm

This is the drives of drops. Dropped INT by Newman followed by dropped pass by Dwayne Harris. 3rd down coming…

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:18 pm

Great defense by Hall, but an outstanding throw by Romo. Looked like Hall got his back twisted around. Yikes.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:14 pm

Leon Hall is just so good at making open field tackles. Eliminates the biggest part of Miles Austin’s game.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:13 pm

It was only a matter of time before Geno made a huge play behind the line.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:13 pm

Not sure what just happened on that kickoff return

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:12 pm

Definitely held my breath on that Josh Brown 33-yard field goal.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:09 pm

If you would have told me Bengals would be 1-3 in red zone, but converted both field goals, I’d take it, especially with Mike Nugent out.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:07 pm

During 4-game win streak Bengals have been converting red zone TDs. Today just 1-for-3, but still hold 13-10 lead.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:06 pm

I cursed as Dalton overthrew a wide-open Hawkins on 3rd down

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:06 pm

It looks like Baby Hawk still has a little rust to shake off, he and Dalton looked out of sync on that third down.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:04 pm

Between Jones and Gresham, both those big bodies have been finding big success down the middle of the field.

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:03 pm

No surprise they’ve lined him up there a few plays

Jason Jason December 9, 20122:03 pm

Jones looks like a tight end with his size and hands.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:02 pm

When a guy like Marvin Jones is in the slot, the post route is going to be huge.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20122:00 pm

Hawkins is racking up the YAC against man coverage.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:57 pm

Even though DeMarco Murray broke the plane for the TD, a nice play by Vinny Rey by coming up for the stop.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:54 pm

Maualuga jumps over Murray instead of taking out his legs, hurts himself in the process.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:51 pm

There’s no way that Austin TD stands

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:49 pm

Then follows it up by a hanging deep INT. Green didn’t help by not coming back to the ball.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:49 pm

Dalton throws pick to Carr. Romo hits Witten down to 3.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:48 pm

Great ball placement by Dalton on the first down throw to Green. Perfectly outside, corner in man can’t get to the ball.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:47 pm

It’s good to have Kyle Cook back. Huge holes up the middle, and Cook stayed still while getting run over on the hard-count encroachment.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:44 pm

Lucky no flag.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:44 pm

Boom Herron did a good Ced Peerman impression almost blocking a punt.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:43 pm

Do just that on next play, but Michael Johnson pressures causes Romo to overthrow Austin who was open deep.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:42 pm

Leon Hall came off the field after falling behind Austin down the sideline. Not good.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:41 pm

End of 1st qtr. Bengals with 61 yds rushing, 49 passing. Marvin Jones 54 total yards

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:40 pm

Dallas intent on dinking and dunking Bengals to death. Will eventually use that to go for play-action bomb to Bryant or Austin.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:38 pm

DeMarco Murray gets going downhill and he is a load to take down. Leon Hall made a great tackle on the outside.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:35 pm

The Cowboys are getting pressure up the middle, but Dalton has been adept at avoiding the sacks so far.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:35 pm

Hatcher busts through for sack and forces a Brown FG. Bengals lead 10-3

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:33 pm

If the Cowboys are going to play A.J. in straight man, then A.J. is going to make them pay.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:30 pm

A big run on an end-around and a great catch on a poorly placed throw, and Marvin Jones might have his own coming out party.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:29 pm

Cowboys go three and out. After a bad punt, Bengals will take over on their own 47

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:28 pm

So far Romo looks to be targeting Adam Jones with breaking routes.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:26 pm

Leon Hall against Miles Austin is going to be a fun battle to watch today.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:25 pm

Gives Dalton 25 TD on year with 3 games left after throwing 20 in his rookie year

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:23 pm

It’s good to see Baby Hawk back doing the magic that he does now that Sanu is gone.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:22 pm

Was recorded as a Hawkins shovel pass from Dalton for an 8-yard TD

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:22 pm

Baby Hawk takes the rock and SCORES!!! Bengals take 7-3 lead

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:18 pm

Good to see the fullback still alive and well

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:18 pm

And a nice snag by referee Bill Vinovich.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:18 pm

Pressley’s massive lead block springs Ellis for a 20-yard gain.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:17 pm

Huge hole up the middle. The Bengals line is going to win the battle up the middle today.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:15 pm

Romo was 5 of 6 on the drive for 47 yards. Tate returns the kickoff to the 30

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:12 pm

Crocker with a huge deflection on 3rd-and-1 forces Dallas FG. Score now 3-0.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:12 pm

Patient defense against a Murray run and a heads up play by Robert Geathers by not biting on the run fake, and Cincy gets the stop.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:09 pm

DAL begins the game with 3 straight first downs. Ball now at CIN 28.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:07 pm

Bengals rushed 6 and Romo still had all day. Not a good sign.

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:07 pm

Worth noting Dan Herron is active and was in on kick team

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:06 pm

Josh Brown’s first kickoff is a touchback.

Shawn Maher Shawn Maher December 9, 20121:04 pm

I’m expecting to see plenty of those short crossing routes from Dallas today

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:04 pm

Dallas Cowboys Elect To Receive After Winning Coin Toss

Jason Jason December 9, 20121:00 pm
