We’re at halftime in Cincinnati, and I believe fans from both sides are getting exactly what they bargained for. A close game, no matter what way you look at it. The score: Bengals 13, Cowboys 10.
For the Cincinnati Bengals, the offense appears to have found its groove again, after looking a little lackluster last week against the San Diego Chargers.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis, and the Bengals running game continues to be productive, as the Law Firm is averaging almost 7 yards per carry, including one or two explosive runs early on. Brian Leonard is seeing a bit more action, totaling 15 yards on three carries.
Then, of course, there was Marvin Jones. The Bengals executed a fake run up the middle, and gave the football to Jones on a beautiful end-around that picked up 37 yards. It was the play that helped set up the Bengals first touchdown of the game. Jones was also on the receiving end of a 3rd-and-12 completion for a first down.
Andy Dalton has also been solid so far, despite a interception on a dangerous play-action play. He’s passed for 118 yards and a touchdown on 10/14 attempts through the air.
A problem the Bengals have had have comes in the form of injuries this first half for Cincinnati. Rey Mauluga was injured early on, and Leon Hall was hurt a second time after coming back from being shaken up.
A few games around the league seem to be favoring Cincinnati. The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently being shut out 10-0 in Ben Roethlisberger’s return against the San Diego Chargers.
The Tennessee Titans are also leading the Indianapolis Colts 20-7 at half time. The Colts currently lead the AFC wild card race for the No. 5 playoff seed.
