NFL News: Texans Whooped & Seasons Possibly over for Dwayne Bowe, Dez Bryant

The Houston Texans have been a trendy Super Bowl pick for much of the 2012 season, but last night’s 42-14 thrashing at the hands of the New England Patriots has people reconsidering that belief. Despite an 11-2 record, the Texans have been outscored 84-28 by the Green Bay Packers and the Pats, arguably the two best teams they’ve played. The Texans defense has struggled mightily as of late, allowing 120 points in their last four games after allowing just 143 points in their first nine games.

It was revealed yesterday that Raiders Pro Bowl DT Richard Seymour’s contract will void at the end of the 2012 season, and he will become an unrestricted free agent. Seymour will enter the 2013 offseason as one of the more highly regarded defensive free agents, despite the fact he’s missed five games with a hamstring injury.

The Chiefs’ miserable 2012 season is over for WR Dwayne Bowe, who suffered several broken ribs during Sunday’s loss to the Browns, and he will be placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Cowboys WR DezBryant has torn ligaments in his finger and there’s a good chance he’ll miss the remainder of the season
