NFL News: Ricky Stanzi's Rise, LeSean McCoy's Return, and Jets' Collapse

The Kansas City Chiefs are in need of a massive overhaul at 2-12, and Head Coach Romeo Crennel said Monday there’s a possibility that second-year QB Ricky Stanzi could start in Week 16 against the Colts. If the Colts win in KC, they’ll lock up a playoff berth just one year after going 2-14.

Eagles Head Coach Andy Reid told reporters Monday that RB LeSean McCoy has a chance to play in Week 16 against the Washington Redskins after being medically cleared to return from his concussion.

Last night’s loss by the New York Jets eliminated them from the postseason for the second year in a row after making back-to-back AFC Championship games. The loss also means that there will be at least two AFC North teams in the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season dating back to the 2008 playoffs. In two of those years, the Steelers and Ravens made it. In one season, the Bengals and Ravens were in. And last year, the Ravens, Steelers, and Bengals made it into the postseason. This year, it will be some combination of two of those three teams.

It’s looking morel likely that Patriots All-Pro TE Rob Gronkowski could make his return this week vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars after recovering from his broken forearm.
