Not only are the New York Jets finally prepared to move on from the incumbent Mark Sanchez, but they already have his replacement targeted, as head coach Rex Ryan is reportedly high on bringing in current Eagles QB Michael Vick to New York. One would think Ryan should be more concerned about winning his next two games against the Chargers and Bills, as the Jets will be missing the postseason for the second-consecutive year, and there are no guarantees that he’ll be back next year to select the next QB. Sanchez is also owed $8.25 million in guaranteed money next year, so trading him won’t be easy, and if they truly want to get rid of him, they may have to cut him.
Norv Turner will almost certainly be fired this offseason by the San Diego Chargers, but he will reportedly have his choice of at least five offensive coordinator jobs from various NFL teams. No one can deny the success he’s had as an OC and a QB coach, and he’ll likely thrive in those roles once again when he joins another team.
Reports are beginning to leak out that the Kansas City Chiefs have informed head coach Romeo Crennel and GM Scott Pioli that they both will be fired at season’s end.
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady sat out Wednesday’s practice with a right shoulder injury, though it’s not believed to be serious.
