Despite several head-scratching decisions during the Bengals’ breakthrough victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, head coach Marvin Lewis forever cemented himself in Bengals lore. The franchise leader in head coaching victories also became the franchise leader in playoff appearances as his Bengals will advance to the postseason for the fourth time under his tenure.

Not Sam Wyche, Forrest Gregg, or even the great Paul Brown can say they accomplished such a feat. Once the postseason begins this year, Lewis will have guided Cincinnati to the playoffs in three of the past four years and four times during his 11 years with the Bengals organization.
