The Philadelphia Eagles will reportedly make a heavy push to hire Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly to replace Andy Reid once the team fires him at the conclusion of the 2012 regular season. Kelly nearly took the Tampa Bay Buccaneers job last offseason before they ended up hiring Greg Schiano and Kelly remained with Oregon. It’s highly unlikely there will be a resolution before the Ducks’ January 3rd Fiesta Bowl game against Kansas State.

Also coming out of Philadelphia is news that the Eagles may consider trading WR Jeremy Maclin in the offseason. Maclin is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and this past Sunday became the eighth WR in NFL history to amass at least 55 catches and 750 yards in each of his first four seasons

The Oakland Raiders will be without starting QB Carson Palmer in their regular-season finale after he sustained several cracked ribs and a bruised lung during Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers. Matt Leinart is expected to get the start, and Terrelle Pryor will be his backup.

New York Giants DE Osi Umenyiora told reporters Monday that he likely won’t be returning to the Giants next year, as he’ll be a free agent this offseason and has already had several contract disputes with the Giants.
