Scouting the AFC North: 2013 Opponents Set, & Heath Miller Surgery Today

Steelers TE Heath Miller was a candidate to be selected to the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl, which is scheduled to be announced tonight, but even if he hear’s his name called for the first time in his eight-year NFL career., he’ll be more focused on having surgery on knee Thursday to fix his torn ACL and MCL, as well as damage done to his PCL.  Miller will have finished the season with 71 catches for career highs of 816 yards and eight touchdowns.

Browns offensive coordinator Brad Childress says RB Trent Richardson (ankle) could be a spot player in Week 17  vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers if he’s cleared to play. The third-overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft  is 50 yards shy of posting a 1,000-yard rushing season.

Baltimore Ravens starting safety Bernard Pollard has missed the past two games with a rib injury suffered during a Week 14 loss to the Washington Redskins, but he did return to practice on a full-time basis Wednesday, and said that there’s a good chance of him playing Sunday vs. the Cincinnati Bengals.

After last week’s results and despite there being one week remaining in the 2012 regular-season , the 2013 opponents for the AFC North teams are now set. Here’s who each team will be playing in the 2013 NFL season:

CINCINNATI BENGALS

Home: New England, N.Y. Jets, Green Bay, Minnesota and Indianapolis.

Away: Buffalo, Miami, Chicago, Detroit and San Diego.

CLEVELAND BROWNS

Away: New England, N.Y. Jets, Green Bay, Minnesota and Kansas City.

BALTIMORE RAVENS

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Of course, all four teams will play each other twice.
