Mike Brown Seeing the Light, May "Beef-Up" GM Position

Bengals Owner Mike Brown has long been considered one of the worst owners in professional sports, as he has tried to balance the duties of being an NFL owner while also assuming the role of General Manger, something he is clearly not capable of doing. Over the past few seasons, he has slowly given more front-office control to head coach Marvin Lewis, who has been more in charge of the NFL Draft process as well as having a bigger say in who the team signs and lets go in free agency.

Now comes word the Brown may continue to overhaul the front-office, and even add a GM:

Heard some rumblings that perhaps the Bengals beef up their front office this offseason, and maybe add a general manager position. Owner Mike Brown did expand his scouting staff, finally, a year ago. Worth keeping an eye on.

On would think the early favorite for such a role would be Lewis, as he would simply be given the title of Head Coach/GM.

Make Lewis the GM and Zimmer the coach, keep Gruden if you can although I have to say my personal feeling is their play call this year has been average to under acheiving at best and please draft a running back that can catch as well as run the ball. Isn’t that what west coast offensives are suppose to do? It gives Dalton another outlet to go to. With Lewis to GM at least we may not run out of timeouts half way thru the second half.
