The Bengals have signed WR Lavasier Tuinei to a reserve/future contract. Tuinei is a 6’4″ 220 lb receiver out of Oregon, who the team signed off of the street after he was cut from the Seattle Seahawks practice squad earlier this year. He’ll be added to the roster the day after Super Bowl.
Tuinei was very productive receiver while at the University of Oregon, where had 108 career receptions for 1,212 yards and 12 touchdowns in 37 games. During his senior campaign, he started 14 games while leading the Ducks with 48 catches and 10 touchdowns and finishing second on the team in receiving yards (599). He made a name for himself on the biggest stage as he was named the Rose Bowl Offensive Player of the Game with career highs of eight catches for 158 yards and two scores in Oregon’s win over Wisconsin.
He should be able to battle for the sixth or seventh receiver spot on the Bengals roster next season.
