NFL News: Chip Kelly a Hot Name as NFL Teams Target Their Next Coach

The Philadelphia Eagles have known for awhile now that they would be parting ways with longtime head coach Andy Reid at the end of the 2012 season, and that has allowed them to already have a list of candidates they’ll target which are Oregon coach Chip Kelly, Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, Penn State coach Bill O’Brien, 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman, and Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

Oregon’s Chip Kelly is also the #1 target for the Cleveland Browns after they fired Pat Shurmur.

Chicago Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith was one of seven unfortunate coaches who got fired yesterday, but he will likely be the one to have a new job the soonest, as four teams have already inquired about him becoming their next HC.

Arizona Cardinals Team President Michael Bidwill said yesterday the team was going to interview former Eagles coach Andy Reid and Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said that he is focusing on the Pats in the midst of their postseason run and not any inquiries other teams may have in him becoming their next HC.
