Scouting the AFC North: Browns not interested in Jon Gruden

Don’t break out the Chucky dolls quite yet, because after an earlier report today that the Cleveland Browns were interested in hiring former Super Bowl-winning Head Coach Jon Gruden, it turns out that the Browns aren’t interested in the elder Gruden according to Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com

After being rejected by Oregon’s Chip Kelly, the Cleveland Browns are still searching for their sixth full-time coach since 1999. They fired Pat Shurmur last week after he went 9-23 in two seasons with Cleveland, who was hoping to make a “splash” hire by bagging the hottest collegiate head-coaching candidate since Jim Harbaugh( excluding Nick Saban).

The search for a new coach will now reportedly include Colts OC Bruce Arians and Marc Trestman, the head coach of the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.

The Baltimore Ravens were able to dispatch the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, and will now head to Denver to face the red-hot Broncos, winners of 11-straight games. In Week 15, the Broncos traveled to Baltimore and beat the Ravens 34-17.
