Week in Review: Top 5 Bengals Needs

Change of pace back – BenJarvus Green-Ellis looked pretty good as the year went on, and will be the number 1 back going into next year. However, he isn’t a guy who can take it to the house from anywhere. We need a change of pace guy who can break any play and take it to the house. Cedric Peerman isn’t the answer and neither is Brian Leonard.

Legit #2 WR – This is the one need that might already be on the team. Mohamed Sanu was really showing some promise before the injury that ended his season. Marvin Jones was impressive down the stretch and shows that he has talent. One of those 2 may develop into the #2 WR this team needs to take pressure off of A.J. Green. If the Bengals don’t think they are going to be though, they need to bring in another legit weapon to help out Green and Dalton.

Backup QB – Some people may not agree with this, but Andy Dalton needs someone to come in and push him. Bruce Gradkowski isn’t a guy that is going to do that. Dalton really faltered down the stretch and his deep ball accuracy hasn’t gotten any better since his rookie season. We need a backup that can come in and push Dalton to get better.

You know the Bengals have Bernard Scott, right? You didn’t even mention him. He wasthe change of pace back until his injury. Not saying we don’t need another option, but can’t believe you didn’t even mention him.

Bernard Scott wasn’t very good when he was healthy, he was hurt all year and is a free agent this off season. I don’t expect him to be back. Even if he is, he isn’t good enough to get serious playing time.

We don’t need a change of pace back, we need a REAL running back, and an OC that knows how to balance the Run/pass game.

While I agree with that, I don’t think BJGE is bad enough to warrant a
high pick on a RB. Plus he is signed for 2 more years and will almost
assuredly be the starter unless we hit a mid – late round RB. I really
like Franklin out of UCLA has the speed to really break it open but is
still big enough to be a 20 – 25 carry a game guy.
