With the results of this past weekend’s divisional playoff games, several head-coaching candidates saw their teams eliminated for the postseason, giving them time to focus on interviewing with other teams regarding their coaching vacancies.

The Denver Broncos’ gut-wrenching loss to the Baltimore Ravens may eventually cost them offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. He’s as hot as any name on the coaching market, and many believed he was the #1 assistant coach most likely to be an NFL head coach next year. He already has interviews set up with the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are the fourth team to interview McCoy for their top coaching job. He had interviews two weeks ago with Chicago, Arizona and Philadelphia. Those three teams have yet to fill their coaching vacancies.

FOX’s Jay Glazer is now reporting that the Cardinals are trying to bring McCoy in for a second interview tomorrow after previously interviewing him, and it appears he may now be the favorite to become their next HC.

The Broncos know there’s a strong chance they lose him, and they’re already planning to interview Broncos QBs coach Adam Gase, former Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt, and Colts QBs coach Clyde Christensen to be their next OC.
