Andrew Whitowrth wasn’t’ selected to the initial Pro Bowl roster, but the Bengals captain and most consistent offensive lineman will now be headed to Honolulu after he was added to the roster today. He will replace Denver Broncos offensive tackle Ryan Clady.
Whitworth’s addition will mean the Bengals will have four players in the Pro Bowl this season. He joins defensive tackle Geno Atkins, tight end Jermaine Gresham, and wide receiver A.J. Green. Ironically, he ‘s not the biggest fan of the heavily-criticized Pro Bowl. He said these comments on the Wednesday prior to the results being announced:
It’s a joke to me. I don’t worry about that stuff every year. I plan to try and make the playoffs and do what I do and that’s it. That’s all you can do. It doesn’t matter one way or the other to me. I know people probably think that’s crazy, but it really doesn’t.
