Strengths

Solid tackler. Rarely misses.

Takes good angles to ball carriers.

Diagnoses plays well. Always seems to be near the ball.

Great ball-skills for a linebacker. Long arms allow him to deflect/intercept more passes than average linebacker.

Will hit the hole hard and take on blockers. Not afraid of contact.

Able to stick with TE in coverage.

Great leader.  Was a two time team-captain.

 

Weaknesses

At barely 230 pounds, will be a bit undersized at linebacker.

His limited size means that he’s likely a better fit for an outside linebacker spot.

Has trouble shedding blockers when they lock-up on him.

Needs a big defensive line to protect him.

Not asked to rush the passer often.

 

Other Notes

Was named the 2012 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year

He ended the 2012 regular-season with a team-high 11 tackles against Texas and led the Wildcats in stops.

Selected to participate in the 2013 Senior Bowl.

Transferred from the University of Miami in 2010.

Brother is Bryce Brown, who plays RB for the Philadelphia Eagles.
