College All-Star Classic Player to Watch

While everyone will be paying attention to the Senior Bowl today, as it is the most highly-regarded college football All-Star game, there are still some excellent NFL prospects participating in today’s Raycom All-Star Classic, which is on CBS Sports Network right now. The best prospect in this game may be Maryland’s Kenny Tate, a linebacker/safety hybrid, who finished the 2012 season with 42 tackles (6.5 for loss) and four sacks, and was named an honorable-mention All-ACC selection

At 6’3″ 219 lbs, he is undersized for a linebacker , but he makes up for it with his speed and ability to cover a wide area of the field. He could here his name called on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, and could be an immediate contributor on special teams next year while developing into either a safety or linebacker. The Bengals could certinaly use help at both positions, and Tate may be one of this years’ “diamonds in the rough”.

Here are some highlights of Tate in action
