Mike Zimmer has revived the careers of many NFL players who were labeled as draft-busts, from Reggie Nelson, to Adam Jones, to just this past season when he took Vontaze Burfict, an undrafted free agent who was viewed as toxic material, to becoming the Bengals’ leading tackler and future of the linebacking corp. Now it appears his latest project will be former New York Jet Aaron Maybin, who tweeted today that he has joined the Cincinnati Bengals:
Blessed and highly favored! Just became the newest member of the Bengals. Humbled and hungry. instagr.am/p/U6jkMaNsSo/

Maybin was the 11th-overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft out of Penn State by the Buffalo Bills, but was released and has played the last two years with the New York Jets before he was released in November. Maybin appeared in 13 games last season with the Jets and eight this year, with zero starts. He had the only six sacks of his career in 2011, and he had none in 2012.
