Going the other way, I’ll fall in with the Ray Lewis and Ed Reed quality players that I can get behind, win or lose. If the 49er quarterback can beat those guys then he’ll deserve all the accolades that will be heaped on him until opening day 2013.

Finally, I look for three things that may seem elementary to the typical Stripe Hype fan.

First, 3-and-outs, especially early in the game and in the middle of the second half, suffer more of these than your opponent and I don’t like your odds.

Second, 3rd-and-longs, win more of these and you’ll win the game.

Finally, my favorite play in all of football: Snap it over the punter’s head. Midway through the fourth-quarter, down by three, the 49ers intercept Flacco deep and have a chance to set up a game winning drive. Instead, they fail on a 3rd-and-long, suffer a 3-and-out and on 4th-down, the long snapper sails it into the end zone where the Baltimore special teams recover to give the Ravens a 10 point win.

Enjoy the chicken wings you guys! Try to keep the beer off the floor. Tip your waiters and bartenders and good luck!
