-San Francisco scored 8 touchdowns in Super Bowl XXIV (Jan. 1990) over Denver, the most by any team in Super Bowl history.

-22 sets of brothers have reached the Super Bowl.

-This is the second Super Bowl appearance for the Ravens, and sixth for the 49ers. Both teams are undefeated in Super Bowl appearances.

-This will be the first instance in which the opposing head coaches are brothers. Jim Harbuagh coaches the 49ers, while older brother John Harbaugh coaches the Ravens.

-The Ravens have posted a .750 winning percentage all-time against the 49ers.

-49ers QB Colin Kaepernick becomes the fourth quarterback in history to make it to the Super Bowl in the same year he made his first NFL start, joining Vince Ferragamo, Kurt Warner, and Tom Brady. Those QBs went 2-1 in their first appearances.

-Teams that have scored a touchdown on an interception return are 11-0 in the Super Bowl.

-The 49ers have outscored opponents 188-89 in the Super Bowl, and are 5-0 all-time in the big game.

-The NFC holds a 25-21 lead over the AFC in Super Bowls.

-Player shares in 2013 include: $88,000 to each member of the winning team; $44,000 to each member of the losing team.

-The NFC has won three in a row and four of the last five Super Bowls.

-With a victory, the 49ers will tie Pittsburgh for the most Super Bowl victories with six.

-Super Bowl teams with the fewest turnovers are 34-3.
