The New York giants have released weakside linebacker Michael Boley was set to earn a $4.25 million salary in 2013, and his release saves the Giants $3.1 million in cap space. He was benched for the final three games of the season in favor of the younger and cheaper Spencer Paysinger and Jacquian Williams. He graded out as the third-worst outside linebacker by Pro Football Focus (-8.8). He’ll also turn 31 in August. Don’t be surprised if the Bengals sign him as a backup, but he wouldn’t be expected to be anything more than that.
