The Indianapolis Colts have informed their all-time leader in sacks, defensive end/linebacker Dwight Freeney, that they will not resign him. The seven-time Pro Bowler is about to turn 33, and thus is thought to be on the back nine of his career. Freeney is still a solid pass rusher in the right system.

He played hurt and out of position for the Colts last year as he moved from defensive end to outside linebacker in Chuck Pagano’s 3-4 defense while managing just five sacks. It was the lowest sack total of his career when appearing in at least 10 games in a season. Freeney has played all 10 of his NFL seasons with the Colts and has 107.5 sacks in that time span. He is the franchise’s all-time sacks leader.
