UPDATE 11:50 PM
I’m told, as of right now, the Eagles are not planning to release Nnamdi Asomugha today.

NFL Free agency doesn’t start until Sunday, and news will be coming fast and furious as players are signed, cut and traded, and a former All-Pro cornerback is now on the market. Howard Eskin is reporting the Philadelphia Eagles will release Nnamdi Asomugha today. Asomugha was due to make $15 million. The Eagles will have to pay Asomugha $4 million if they cut him. This comes less than two years after Asomugha agreed to a five-year, $60 million deal with $25 million guaranteed with Philly.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed on Mike and Mike today that the Miami Dolphins are viewed as the favorites to land free agent Mike Wallace.
The Dolphins, with nearly $40 million in salary cap space, are well-positioned to land Wallace’s services and give their young franchise QB Ryan Tannehill a go-to receiver. Wallace has 32 touchdown catches in his first 63 games. He has gone over 1,200 yards in a season twice.
