I’ll be upfront in saying to take the following with a huge grain of slat, but according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s D. Orlando Ledbetter, the Cinicnnati Bengals may actually be showing interest in free agent runningback Steven Jackson:
Jackson’s athletic blend of speed, power and pass-catching ability would work well with running back Jacquizz Rodgers’ skills. Jackson is also reportedly coveted by Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Green Bay.
I’ve actually thought all along Jackson would be a great fit in Pittsburgh, who are still limited by their salary cap, but if Jackson believes the Steelers are enough of a contender to warrant signing a smaller, incentive-laden deal, we could see him in the AFC North as an opponent
Coming off of eight straight 1,000-yard seasons, Jackson is one of the top offensive free agents on the market, but since he’s 30 years-old and has played for perennial losers in the St. Louis Rams for his entire career, he may be ready to take less money to play for a contender. Don’t expect it to be Cincinnati though.
@joereedy: They had their shot at Jackson 9 Aprils ago. Football Gods won’t allow iit.

Not trying to sound sarcastic but rumors about Jackson and the Bengals have been alive in one form or another since last fall
