There has been a lot of debate as to whether there are any franchise quarterbacks in this year’s NFL Draft, leading many teams to pursue veteran backups. Matt Flynn fits that bill nicely, and the current Seattle Seahawk could be on the move before April’s draft:
Several NFL sources have identified Jacksonville as the most likely destination for Seattle backup quarterback Matt Flynn, and the Jaguars are among the teams to talk to the Seahawks about a deal. Buffalo and Oakland are also in the mix, and though things have progressed slowly, sources said a trade could materialize before the draft.
The Cleveland Browns have signed former Chicago Bears backup QB Jason Campbell to a two-year deal, which will likely lead to the trade or release of Colt McCoy.
The Oakland Raiders are expected to release defensive tackle Tommy Kelly today. The move may signal that the Raiders won’t be cutting Carson Palmer, despite his reluctance to restructure his contract.
The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly have plans to meet with free-agent running back Ahmad Bradshaw.
