Reader’s Mock NFL Draft – Detroit Lions Are On the Clock

Biggest Needs

Defensive end

Offensive line

Defensive tackle

Cornerback

After a disastrous 2012 season in which the Detroit Lions defense struggled mightily to stop anyone with a pulse, they’ll almost certainly be looking to go defense early and often in this year’s NFL Draft. Matt Stafford, Calvin johnson and the rest of the offense did it’s part last year in giving the Lions big leads in several games that their defense couldn’t hold onto in the fourth-quarter. This was due in large part to their lack of a consistent pass-rush,, as well as a mediocre secondary, a recipe for disaster in today’s pass-happy NFL.

With the departures of DEs Michael Bennet and Kyle Vanden Bosch, the need for a pass-rusher only grew this offseason, and with players like Ezekial Ansah and Barkevious Mingo still on the board, that need can easily be addressed with their first selection.

Who should the Browns select with the #6 pick in the 2013 draft?
