There is also a report that the Patriots could sign Sanders to a long-term contract if the Steelers to decline to match their offer sheet.

The Steelers now have until Sunday night to match the offer sheet. They may try to restructure deals for other veteran players to match the offer and still have enough cap space to sign their draft picks. If they choose not to, the Patriots would send their 2013 third-round draft pick to the Steelers.

The Baltimore Sun reports the San Diego Chargers have made a preliminary inquiry about free agent offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie, who played last year with the Baltimore Ravens. McKinnie has started in 147 of the 164 games he’s played in with the Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.
