Andy Dalton on adding Harrison:
It would definitely be nice to have him on our side rather than looking across the line of scrimmage and seeing him out there.
As Bengals Beat Writer Joe Reedy points out, the Bengals still have plenty of cap space to finish out the offseason and still hav enough to eventually work out a deral with disgruntled offensive tackle Andre Smith, if a deal can be worked out:
Including the Mike Pollak deal (the numbers on Bernard Scott should be official tomorrow), the Bengals are at $28.55 million in cap space, third-most in league. The Browns lead at $33.6 million and Bucs have $32.84M according to the latest NFLPA report.
Factoring in draft picks, practice squad, IR anticipations and everything else, that still leaves the Bengals with around $9 million to spend in free agency. In other words more than enough for James Harrison, Andre Smith and maybe a couple others.
